Ninety Marikeños recently joined the ranks of the 502nd Marikina Ready-Reserve Battalion, bringing the total number of members to 220.
The new enlistees received a rigorous 15-session physical training in disaster preparedness. The top three graduates were Miranella Lures, Chiward Paro Cruz, and Andy Acsayan.
Gracing the graduation ceremony were MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando, outgoing Marikina Ready-Reserve Battalion commander Capt. Edison Josef, Col. Marcelo Javier Jr. of the 15th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, Ready Reserve commander Dir. Ramon Santiago, and incoming Marikina Ready-Reserve Battalion commander Vice Mayor Marion Andres.
Operating under the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Army Reserve Command, the Marikina Ready-Reserve Battalion renders voluntary services during emergency situations in the city.
