The World of Butterflies (WOB) is dedicated to the conservation of butterflies and the preservation of the ecosystem. It was inagurated on July 25, 2004 conciding with the 58th birthday of former Marikina City mayor (now Metro Manila Development Authority chairman) Bayani "BF" Fernando-an evowed nature lover. WOB is a 2,000-square-meter expanse of lush gardens that makes a perfect "home" for over 20 species of butterflies. These winged, graceful creature comprise a perfect backdrop for a number of things that you can do at WOB, including:

• Learn about the life cycle of butterflies through an animated video presentation in the Audio-Visual Room, which can comfortably seat 100 people.


• Know how butterflies come to life at the Conservatory. You can even touch or hold the catterpillars from which butterflies magically transform. WOB breeders and staff are on hand to provide interactive lecturers and answer any butterfly-related questions you may have.
  
  
• Take in the tranquility of a tropical forest-inspired enviroment, replete with landscape terain, verdant foliage, refreshing waterfalls, and fascinating rocks formations.
  
  
• Bring the celebration of key milestones such as birthday, weddings, christenings, anniversaries, and family reunions to a different-and enchanting-level by holding them at WOB.
