The city government of Marikina through the Local Civil Registry (LCR) in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is facilitating mobile passporting services on September 17, 8 a.m., at the Marikina City Hall Quadrangle.
The project entitled “Mobile Passport Service 2011” caters to 300 Marikina residents who can comply with the requirements on a first come, first served basis.
Interested applicants are advised to submit the following requirements: (for new application) National Statistics Office-issued original birth certificate; two valid identification cards; and copy of marriage certificate for married women; and (for renewal) photocopy of expired passport with latest arrival and departure record. Applicants with lost expired passports must submit an affidavit of loss and must present all the documents required for new application. Once accepted, applicants are scheduled for interview on October 15.
Aside from the residents, the project can also accommodate 300 city government employee applicants who are advised to submit requirements on September 14-16.
Mayor Del De Guzman lauded the efforts of the DFA in providing Marikeños the convenience of facilitating their passports. He also advised all interested parties to avail of the offered services.
“This project is a commendable one. We would like to encourage all interested applicants to complete and submit their requirements early,” De Guzman said.
LCR advised that payment for processing fee of PhP 1,200 must be done on October 15. The release of passports will be on November 12.
Every year, an average of four mobile passporting services is conducted by the city government and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
