Marikina City's Tour De Takong (Stilleto Race)

As a part of the celebration of the Sapatos Festival, Marikina Mayor Del De Guzman invites everyone to join “Tour De Takong”, a stiletto race, this November 18 at the Shoe Avenue. It is open to all females with age 18 and above, Filipino citizen, and non-Marikeños are also allowed to join. Heels should be at least 3 inches in height with thinness of 1.5cm. Moreover, the shoes must not be taped on the contestant’s feet. The race will be held on the stretch of Shoe Avenue in Barangay Sta. Elena. The starting line is in front of Teatro Marikina and will end at the Cityhood Park covering 500 meters. Check-in time for the participants is at 5:45am to 6:45am while the race proper starts at 7am. Contestants are encouraged to wear glamorous dresses as special awards worth Php2,000 would be given like the Shoe-perstar Award, Shoes-yal Award, Shoe-nique Award, Shoe Sexy for this Race! Award, and the Miss Shoe-niverse Award. First placer would receive Php15,000; Php10,000 for the second place; and Php5,000 for the third place. The judges would check if the contestants followed the rules before awarding the prizes. Contestants who disobeyed rules would be automatically disqualified.
