MISSION

Develop, sustain and preserve updated Library Resources available and useful to the community and to the Filipino people.

OBJECTIVES

1.  To serve as an information and knowledge center of the community;
2.  To provide sufficient and substantial updated information for the informal education of the people;
3.  To augment the research and information needs of students, teachers and other  professionals in the locality;
4. To provide opportunity for self-improvement;
5. To gather, organize and preserve the local historical documents;
6. To bring the library closer to the community;
7. Maintain an ideal atmosphere conducive to serious learning and easy assimilation of ideas;
8. Be an ideal setting for learning activities being the seat of Knowledge, Progress and Success.

LIBRARY SERVICES

Reference Service
The librarian answers reference questions of the users and provide them materials and may offer an alternative source of information or solution to the problem.

Reader’s Service
The librarian provides guidance to library users especially school children regarding the choice of reading materials they need.

Library lecture
Library orientation and lecture are provided for new clientele. The lecture gives a brief outline on the use of card catalog and library rules and regulations.

Photocopying
The library maintains photocopy service at minimal cost.

Library Guidelines on How the City Library serves you better:

1. Everyone is welcome! The City Public Library is open to the public from Mondays – Saturdays: 8 am -12nn, 1– 5pm except during Holidays and/or special occasions.
2. A quiet atmosphere is conducive to learning and must be maintained at all times. Unnecessary noise, loud conversation, and discussion, smoking, drinking, playing, and sleeping within the library premises are discouraged are discouraged/prohibited.
3. Art and design projects involving drawing, painting, pasting and cutting are only allowed in the designated areas and must have prior permission from the City Librarian. Likewise, the use of model clay, scissors, slipping tools, water coloring kits, and the like are discouraged inside library.
4. Cellular phones, beepers, etc., should be kept on silent mode, and their active use within the library premises is discouraged.
5. Wearing hats, caps, visors and the like is also discouraged for courtesy reasons.
6. Use of electrical convenience outlets should have prior permission from the City Librarian.
7. Library Collections, except for books categorized as Fictional/Recreational must remain in the confines of the City Library.

Donate to the Library
If you are interested in donating books that you have enjoyed reading again and again or brand new books that you would like to share with others, just bring them in to the City Library and we will:

• Label them with acknowledgement stickers thanking you for the donation. (Unless you prefer otherwise)
• Process, catalog and add them to the library collection or…
• Direct them to other worthy libraries in need of resources.
