The City Government of Marikina is increasing the budget for food and medicines of animals that are staying in the animal pound of its City Veterinary Office (CVO), as ordered by Mayor Marcy Teodoro.

The additional budget on food and medicines will ensure that the animals on its care such as cats and dogs will remain healthy while waiting for adoption.

The City Government will also convert the animal impounding area of the CVO into a temporary shelter for these cats and dogs to ensure their welfare and well-being.

Meanwhile, Marikina will continue to encourage citizens to adopt the animals that are in the care of the CVO so that they will be taken cared of permanently.

For those who are interested to bring these animals into their homes, they can drop by the animal impounding area located at G. Fernando cor Aquilina Sts. in Brgy. Sto. Nino. A minimal fee of P75 will be collected as registration fee, which already includes free anti-rabbies vaccination. Please bring your valid ID card with address. Non-Marikina residents can also adopt.

For more information, please drop by the CVO at the 2/F of the City Engineering Complex located along G. Fernando Ave., Brgy. Sto. Niño in Marikina. The CVO is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You may call at (02) 475-4719.
