If other cities in Metro Manila grappled with tons of trash after the celebration of the New Year, Marikina greeted the first day of 2019 with cleaner streets and environment.

On January 1, City Hall employees belonging to the City Environmental Management Office (CEMO) under the leadership of Gloria Buenaventura, took to the streets and started cleaning up the trash left by the New Year revelers.

Mayor Marcy Teodoro likewise called on Marikenos to start 2019 with cleaner environment by cleaning their homes, their surroundings and their communities.

Mayor Marcy also urged the employees of the City Government of Marikina to double their efforts in serving Marikeños.

“Lubos tayong inaasahan ng ating mga kababayan. Pagsumikapan natin silang mapaglingkuran ng magalang at mabilis,” Mayor Marcy said.
