Mayor Marcy Teodoro leads the City Government of Marikina in paying homage to the senior citizens and their contributions to the development of the city.

The City Government is currently renovating the Office for Senior Citizens’ Affairs (OSCA) located on the corner of Shoe Avenue and V. Gomez Street in Barangay San Roque to make it more comfortable for the elderly, who visit the office to claim their gifts during their birthdays and for other purposes.

“Inaayos natin ang OSCA dahil nasa isipan natin ang pagiging komportable ng mga senior citizens,” said Mayor Marcy about the ongoing renovation of OSCA building.

“Bukod sa mas maayos na sahig at kisame, nilaanan ng metikulosong architectural design ang paggawa sa proyektong ito upang matugunan ang ginhawa na kinakailangan ng mga senior citizens ng ating lungsod,” he added.

Under the term of Mayor Marcy, the senior citizens of Marikina are getting the benefits that they deserve. They include cash gift of P1,000 during their birthdays and a basket of groceries that they can bring to their families at home.

“Utang po natin sa nakaraan kung anong meron tayo sa kasalukuyan,” Mayor Marcy said in honoring the senior citizens of Marikina.

The City Government is also building an OSCA Pavilion inside the compound of the Marikina Hotel, which is also under renovation so it can serve the public better. The pavilion will serve as a place where seniors can hold events such as meetings and birthday celebrations.

The senior citizens will also have free access to the swimming pool currently being constructed in the Marikina Hotel.

Mayor Marcy is also building OSCA satellite offices in some communities in Marikina such as in Barangay Concepcion Uno so that senior citizens would no longer have to travel to the OSCA headquarters in Barangay San Roque to, among other purposes, claim their birthday gifts.
