The City Veterinary Office (CVO) announced that the next batch of pet registration would be held for residents in Barangay Marikina Heights starting today, Thursday, October 25, until Saturday, October 27.
The CVO will also undertake vaccination of these pets to prevent the spread of “rabies” and other animal diseases to humans.
For new applicants, the requirements for the registration of their pets include a duly accomplished registration form from the CVO, photo of the dog and cat (full body and side view, 3R size), a 2x2 photo of the owner and P75 registration fee.
For those renewing their pet registration, they must present the dog tag and old registration papers, duly accomplished application form from the CVO and a P75 registration fee.
The pet owners are also required to bring with them the photocopy of the certificate (or proof) of anti-rabies vaccination. If the dogs have not yet been given anti-rabies vaccination, the owners must bring these pets for free vaccination.
Below is the schedule of the three-day pet registration and vaccination for residents in Barangay Marikina Heights:
The schedule for the registration of pets in other barangays will be announced later on through the Facebook page of the Marikina Public Information Office (PIO).
To promote responsible ownership of pets and prevent the spread of rabies that could be fatal to humans, Marikina started its annual pet registration in August 2003 through City Ordinance No. 67, which was amended in 2007 as City Ordinance 62 that imposed a fine of P2,000 on owners who fail to register their dog and cat pets.
