In the end, there is only one Queen. Out of the 65 candidates who joined the search (later on trimmed to just 36), Lois Anne Badando stood out with her beauty, poise especially under pressure (you should watch the way she answered the difficult questions during the Q&A portions of the coronation night), confidence elegance and talent.

Right after winning the crown last Saturday night, 20-year-old Lois Anne, who is from Brgy. Concepcion Uno, agreed for a short interview at the stage where she was proclaimed the winner amid cheers from friends and supporters and numerous requests for photo opportunities from newly-found adoring fans, who simply can’t get enough of her queenly presence both on and off the stage.

Here is the short interview with the 5'4" tall Lois Anne, who was still radiating from the glow of her victory.

Question: How are you feeling after winning the crown?

Lois Anne: Honestly, it feels so surreal. Before the announcement of the winners, I did not win any special award. So I thought I would not make it. Although I did not expect to win any special award at all.

Winning Miss Marikina is probably a huge step for me. Sobrang saya ko.

Question: Has it always been your dream to become Miss Marikina?

Lois Anne: I dreamed of winning Miss Marikina. But honestly, I did expect to win at all because all the other contestants were equally beautiful and talented. But I gave it my best.

Question: What is it about you that made you stand out and win?

Lois Anne: It’s probably my confidence. I have the wit and the genuineness to promote my advocacy and to represent Marikina well.

Question: What is your advocacy?

Lois Anne: My advocacy is simple. I really want to promote CLEAGO, clean as you go. Honestly, I believe that a small step can make a big change. If we clean ourselves up individually, it will make a big difference towards having a cleaner environment.

My other advocacies are to stop racism, discrimination against Marikenyos and also to put a stop to animal cruelty.

Question: Will you be joining national pageants like Bb. Pilipinas?

Lois Anne: If they allow me to join Bb. Pilipinas, I will happily join and represent Marikina. Actually, it’s my mom’s dream to join a national beauty pageant and she is passing it on to me. I will be more than proud to represent her and especially Marikina.

Question: Is this your first time to join a beauty contest?

Lois Anne: This is my second pageant. My first pageant was the Mr. and Miss CEU (Centro Escolar University). And I won First Runner Up.
