Marita
3 Mt. Kennedy St, Mountainview Village, San Roque, Marikina

Marita, which serves Filipino, Italian, Spanish and American dishes, is among the latest restaurants dotting Marikina’s foodscape.

The dining place, which opened on June 24, 2017, offers popular Filipino fares such as kare-kare, sinigang, sisig, fresh lumpia, laing with lechon kawali; Italian dishes such as pizza and pasta; and, of course American classics such as burgers and fries.

It also has its own signature dishes including buffalo wings ala Marita (traditional buffalo wings served with side salad and ranch dressing), palabok ala Marita (angel hair pasta tossed with prawn, bacon sundried tomato and salted egg) and salad ala Marita (mix greens and aragula lettuce tossed with balsamic dressing and topped with candied walnut, shaved apple and parmesan cheese).

Best sellers include its version of buffalo wings and salad, slow cooked roasted pork and its home made truffle potato fritters (deep fried, thinly sliced potato drizzled with truffle oil and served with homemade truffle mayo dip).

Barely a year when it opened, Marita is now a popular dining place in Marikina with customers coming from nearby cities such as Quezon City, Pasig, Antipolo and even from Makati, says Danica Monetermayor, the restaurant’s senior account executive.

“Our main target market is really the Marikinos. But people from other places also come here. Some of them heard about us from their friends and relatives who have dined here,” Danica adds.

“Why our customers keep on coming back? It’s the food, the service given by our staff. The ambiance. This is a little bit more fancy than the usual restaurants in Marikina, but the prices are affordable,” she says.

Marita has set menus priced at P299 such as a set of cream dory al forno, linguini carbonara and salad; or chicken pastel, spaghetti parmagiana and salad; pork cottaleta, spaghetti aglio e olio and salad.

It has function rooms that can fit up to 70 guests for special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries.

For those who love breakfast buffets like those found in five-star hotels, Marita offers breakfast buffets on Saturdays and Sundays. For just P299 (plus service charge), diners can have a fill of Filipino and American favorites such as adobo, danggit, tuyo, champorado, sopas, goto, hotdog, tocino, bacon, pancake, fresh fruits, an overflowing coffee and hot chocolate, plus eggs – scrambled or sunny side up – cooked right in front of you to make sure that it’s hot and fresh.
