Rustic Mornings
11 I. Mendoza St, Marikina City

Rustic Mornings is an all-day breakfast restaurant that serves its famous waffles and pancakes in a garden setting, where tables are shaded by giant trees and surrounded by plants of various species, reminding diners of the warmth of home and the love of family in a provincial setting. Airy, relaxing and the hands of time tick slowly, very slowly.

There are canopies draped with curtains made of sea shells strung together like necklaces, chandeliers with wine bottles and lamps hang on the ceilings, paintings of flowers and leaves adorn the walls, complementing the overall homely, relaxing atmosphere.

Aside from American breakfast, Rustic Mornings also serves Filipino favorites such as tapa, tocino, tawilis, eggs, fried rice. There are soups and stews that Portia herself has concocted, as well as salads, pizzas, callos, grilled salmon, beef ribs.

The best way to drop by is on early mornings, where the sun rays are not yet that fierce, and the place is not that crowded. If you are not an outdoor person, don’t worry, Rustic Mornings has an enclosed dining area that’s fully airconditioned for those who prefer to stay indoors.

Be prepared to spend up between P300 to P500 a meal, which is not really that bad considering that servings are generous and are good for sharing.
